for the next

Grants for
Arts
Projects
are now
available on
the NEA's
website.
Organizations
may apply
under the
following
categories:

Access to
Artistic
Excellence:
To encourage
and support
artistic
excellence,
preserve our
cultural
heritage,
and provide
access to
the arts for
all
Americans.
An
organization
may request
a grant
amount from
$5,000 to
$150,000.
(Two
deadlines:
March 10 and
August 11,
2008)
·
Challenge
America:
Reaching
Every
Community
Fast-Track
Review
Grants:
To support
projects
that extend
the reach of
the arts to
underserved
populations.
Grants are
for $10,000.
(Deadline:
June 2,
2008)
·
Learning in
the Arts for
Children and
Youth:
To advance
arts
education
for children
and youth in
school-based
or
community-based
settings. An
organization
may request
a grant
amount from
$5,000 to
$150,000.
(Deadline:
June 9,
2008)

How to
Apply
Organizations
are required
to submit
their
applications
electronically
through
Grants.gov,
the federal
government's
online
application
system.
In order to
apply
through
Grants.gov,
you must be
registered
with
Grants.gov.
If your
organization
has not yet
registered,
allow at
least two
weeks for
this
one-time,
multi-step
process. See
"Register
with
Grants.gov"
for details.
If you have
already
registered,
renew/verify
your
registration
with
Grants.gov
and make
sure that
all of your
information
is up to
date before
you apply.
New
Grants.gov
Software
The PureEdge
software
required in
previous
years has
been
replaced
with Adobe
software
that allows
Mac users to
apply
electronically
as easily as
PC users.
You now must
have Adobe
Reader
version
8.1.1, a
small, free
software
program,
installed on
your
computer in
order to
access,
complete,
and submit
applications.
NOTE: Only
Adobe Reader
version
8.1.1 can be
used; other
versions
will prevent
you from
submitting
your
application
through
Grants.gov.
